EarthBound Launch Trailer Heralds the Classic Game’s Arrival on the Wii U Virtual Console

For years, if EarthBound fans wanted to play the classic JRPG legally and weren’t lucky enough to still own a copy, they were forced to purchase the original Super Nintendo cartridge for $150 and up on eBay–either that or download it illegally. It seems that Nintendo wizened up, however, and has finally decided to make the game available for only $10 at the Wii U’s eShop.

The launch trailer heralds in the new release with an excellent trailer showcasing what makes the game so great in the first place. As someone who has never played EarthBound before, the trailer has really piqued my interest. Maybe I’ll give the game a go sometime and see what fans have been talking about all these years.
