The Super Power Beat Down is a series regularly put out by Machinima and one of its partners, Bat in the Sun Productions. The series pits popular characters from “nerd culture” in what are mostly battles to the death. Previous match-ups have featured the like of Batman, Lee Everett (The Walking Dead), Master Chief (Halo), Connor Kenway (Assassin’s Creed III), Max Payne (Max Payne 3), and many others.

The latest match-up saw Scorpion (Mortal Kombat) take on the White Ranger (Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers), played by MMPR veteran, Jason David Frank. Ed Boon, co-creator of the Mortal Kombat franchise did not take kindly to the result (in which Scorpion is defeated by a sword through the chin), and conveyed his reaction to the video on Twitter:

The outcomes are determined by fan votes, and this bout had one of the closest, with the White Ranger edging out Scorpion with just 51%. You can check out the video in its entirety below.

Due to the close vote, Machinima decided to satisfy both sides. Here is the ending in which Scorpion wins:
