22 Million PS4 and Xbox One Consoles Will Be Sold in 2015 According to Electronic Arts

During the quarterly Electronic Arts financial conference call, the publisher announced its prediction for PS4 and Xbox One sales for the current year.

According to Electronic Arts, 22 million PS4 and Xbox One combined will be sold by the end of calendar year 2015, which will add to the 27 million sold by the end of calendar year 2014.

To give an example of how far the transition to the new consoles has already come, it was also mentioned that four out of five copies of Battlefield Hardline were sold on PS4 or Xbox One.

Interestingly, since Sony announced having sold 18.5 million PS4 units by the end of 2014, if the historical data available to Electronic Arts is precise, this would mean that the Xbox One sold through to customers about 8.5 million consoles by the same time frame.
