Electronic Arts Promises Free Game for SimCity Problems

SimCity is, in many ways, akin to a MMORPG, and like many MMORPGs it’s plagued by quite a few launch problems preventing many from thoroughly enjoying the game. This has obviously caused quite the uproar in the community, with some even going a bit overboard.

While promising to continue working hard to solve the problems Electronic Arts decided to show its appreciation for the patience of its customers (at least those that have been patient) in a little more tangible way than a “I’m sorry, can we still be friends?”.

On March 18th every gamer that registered SimCity on Origin will receive a mail that will provide directions on how to unlock a free downloadable game from the EA portfolio.

While we still don’t know if we’ll be able to chose between all games from the EA catalogue or just a few select ones, it’s still a rather decent gesture. I’m sure many won’t be placated by it, but personally I’m well used to MMORPG launch woes, and I know that the value of a game like this is shown on the long run, and not just on the first week, so a free game is definitely not unwelcome.
