Electronic Arts had its earning calls today, and the company’s Chief Operating Officer Peter Moore mentioned that the company expects to see 10 million next generation consoles (Xbox One and PS4 combined) shipped by the end of the fiscal year, meaning march the 31st 2014.

Moore also mentioned that the lofty goal should be achieved “easily” as production is proceeding smoothly, and that both hardware manufacturers are going to engage in an unprecedented level of marketing spend.

This seems to be in line with what was said by Sony Computer Entertainment President Andrew House, who stated during the press conference held before Tokyo Game Show that the company plans to ship five million PS4 units by the same date.
