During Electronic Arts’ latest financial conference call held today, Chief Operating Officer Andrew Wilson mentioned that we can expect new game announcements between here and June.
According to Wilson, heading into calendar year 2016 and “as we start to come closer to the EA Play events in LA and London,” the company will talk about new games in development across its studios.
No further hints were provided on what those titles could be, but color me intrigued.
Wilson also explained that the decision to organize EA Play while forfeiting the possibility to have a booth at E3 was dictated by the need to be closer to the players, and ensure that EA makes the games they want to play.
EA Play is seen as an opportunity to invite players in an environment where they can feel comfortable, and give feedback. On top of that, the simultaneous event in London means that EA is trying to spread its reach more geographically.
On the other hand EA continues to be a member of the ESA, and will still have press and business-facing meeting rooms at E3.
EA Play will be held in Los Angels between June 12th and June 14th, and in London on June 12th.
