Electronic Gaming Monthly May Have Ceased Publication (Again)

on November 4, 2014 8:32 AM

Electronic Gaming Monthly (EGM) has been a mainstay of videogaming magazines since 1989, but it seems that the long running publication may have ceased publication again.

The magazine first went defunct back in 2009 after their January issue, but resumed circulation in April 2010 as more of a quarterly magazine. However, it seems that the last issue was published in summer of this year (the issue to be taken down in September) and according to Magazine Agent the publication has ceased production. However, the subscribe link on EGM’s own site is still up; whether that means it’s still running or not has yet to seen.

As someone who grew up with EGM, it’s a shame to see it (and plenty other gaming publications) struggle and fail in this current online market. But it’s difficult to compete with sites that can update news within a matter of hours rather than months.
