As one of the big examples of a title perfect for virtual reality integration, the space title Elite: Dangerous has proven to be an experience worth checking out in virtual reality, and will offer first-time VR owners the chance to check it out as a launch title for the Oculus Rift.
In a new update on the official Oculus website, Elite: Dangerous has been confirmed as a launch title with the device’s official release on March 28th, 2016.
As one of the earliest backers of Oculus, Frontier Developments had created Elite: Dangerous “with VR in mind,” with the title also supporting cross-platform multiplayer access between Oculus, consoles, PC, and Mac.
In addition to the game’s availability at launch for Oculus Rift, the Oculus-compatible version of the game will also be available fore free to owners of Elite: Dangerous or the Horizons Season Pass.
Elite: Dangerous is available now for Xbox One, PC, and Mac, with a PS4 version currently in development – you can check out the launch trailer for the game’s Oculus Rift-compatible version below:
