It’s been two years since Mortal Kombat: Legacy debuted on the Machinima YouTube channel, a retelling of the Mortal Kombat franchise told through the creative lens of Kevin Tancharoen, and starring actors like Michael Jai White and Ian Anthony Dale. Now the second season is here: all ten episodes are currently available to watch, Netflix-style, starting with the first episode, which you can view below.
Mortal Kombat: Legacy II is both a reintroduction and a continuation of the events of the first season, showing off the past of each of the characters, and how they’ve been drawn into the present-day struggle for EarthRealm against Outworld in the deadly Mortal Kombat tournament. Season Two stars both longtime and relatively new Mortal Kombat characters, including: Lui Kang, Kung Lao, Scorpion, Kenshi, Ermac, Kitana, Mileena, Johnny Cage, Shang Tsung and Stryker.
If you haven’t seen the series yet, I’d strongly recommend checking out both the first season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy and the Season 2 trailer. The crew behind the series would also like to encourage viewers to voice their support with the hashtag #getoverhere on Twitter. Each episode is around ten minutes long, so the entire second season should take just under two hours to complete.
