Epic Mickey Nominated for it's Musical Score

The upcoming Disney game featuring the company’s most well-known and lovable mascot, Mickey Mouse has been making some press for itself, most recently with its nomination. Epic Mickey, the dark adventure revolving around the not-so-happy relationship between our rodent friend and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, who ended up not being so lucky. Aside from the game’s interesting take on Mickey, the game seems to have turned heads in the music department. The Hollywood Music In Media Awards has nominated Epic Mickey for “Best Original Video Game Score.” The score composer for Epic Mickey, Jim Dooley has made a statement about the nomination,

“It’s been a rewarding experience creating music that captures the iconic feel of classic Disney film scores for a video game that authentically celebrates the early days of the Disney canon…It’s exciting that Hollywood Music in Media has continued to embrace the art of the game score. My work with video games and films has demonstrated the similarities of epic score in their sound and narrative. I’m honored to be selected as part of their group of highly skilled nominees.”
