Paradox Interactive has announced today that the Art of War expansion for their popular strategy game Europa Universalis IV will be arriving at the end of the month on October 30th. The incredible fourth expansion in just a year since launch, the DLC promises to adds a plenty of changes to the game at the fundamental level, including a complete overhaul of the game map.

Art of War is inspired by the Thirty Years War, and focusing on military aspects and bringing new challenges and opportunities to your empire. A revamp to religion is also prominent, with new structure making religious conflicts more likely. A new revolt system will let you track unrest better, which will come in handy for the hundreds of provinces and dozens of new nations that have been added to the game, along with several other changes.

Excited for the new expansion, project lead Martin Anward has even made a new developer diary to explain new tools to players in their march to war. Learn about new diplomatic options, the new powers of rebels and other notable changes by checking out the trailer below. I don’t know about you, but I’ll have to certainly brush off my copy and import over a Crusader Kings II campaign to enjoy some more empire building with all these changes.
