EVE Online: Retribution Launch Trailer Shows the Last Mistake of a Criminal

on December 4, 2012 11:55 AM

Many would argue that the vast and freedom-oriented sandbox of EVE Online has always been a tad too lenient with criminals and pirates, almost protecting their “right” to harass the rest of the population (it is a sandbox after all) and offering a lot of loopholes for them to get away with it without suffering real consequenced, this is going to change slightly with the¬†Retribution free¬†expansion that hits today.

The trailer shows “Vic” the pirate as he does one of the things pirates like to do the most – preying on defenseless miners – only that this time the miners prove not to be so defenseless, as the new bounty hunting system ultimately brings to Vic’s demise. Of course it’s not really his “last” mistake, as you can’t really “die” in EVE online, but a high bounty is supposed to at least encourage criminals to choose their targets wisely. The jury is still out on whether it’ll work or not, but in the meanwhile you can enjoy the trailer below.
