Now this simply will not due. Nintendo has today confirmed that more additional playable characters will cut a shine in the Wii U exclusive Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge. These characters come in addition to Ryu, who was the only playable character in the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game, and the recently revealed Ayane, who's also Wii U exclusive. There hasn't been a word on precisely who the characters will be, but series history suggests the likes of Rachel and Momiji.

Nintendo states that these characters will be released as free DLC for the game post-launch. This free character DLC adds to an already tall pile of Razor's Edge exclusive content. Said content includes decapitations and additional gore, as well as additional weapons, refined enemy AI and a new co-op mode. Anyone who purchased Ninja Gaiden 3 for the Xbox 360 or PS3 has every right to feel slighted by this. The Wii U version makes the others look like an extended, fully priced demo.

Nintendo also released a brand new trailer for Razor's Edge, and it can be viewed below.
