While World of Warcraft offers raids and detailed leveling systems and Star Wars: The Old Republic offers intergalactic relations and battle, Ever, Jane: The Virtual World of Jane Austen offers something different: tension and gossip amid the times of high society, and lots of parties.

After launching its Kickstarter campaign last month, the MMO inspired by the works of Jane Austen has successfully reached its Kickstarter goal of $100,000 at the end of its funding period, with a final tally of $109, 563 funded. While the game came short of its $150,000 stretch goals, the primary development costs of the game have now been covered by the Kickstarter campaign’s successful funding.

Set in the times of Jane Austen’s works and using gossip and intrigue as its primary motivations, Ever, Jane currently has a free prototype available to download for PC and Mac, which will be available for a few more weeks until the game’s main development begins by its studio, 3 Turn Productions.
