Earlier today, The Evil Within 2 leaked via an ad on Reddit, spoiling a little bit of what it appeared to be a big E3 surprise in the works by Bethesda. That being said, The Evil Within 2 -- a third-person survival horror game -- is indeed real and indeed coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Additionally, the pair also announced the game is coming sooner than expected: appropriately launching on Friday the 13th, October 13th, 2017.

Like the previous game -- The Evil Within -- The Evil Within 2 is being developed by Tango Gameworks, the studio founded by Resident Evil series creator, Shinji Mikami. Further, it has been revealed the game's protagonist Sebastian Castellanos has returned. The following brief story overview is provided:

You are Detective Sebastian Castellanos and at your lowest point. But when given a chance to save your daughter, you must enter a world filled with nightmares and discover the dark origins of a once-idyllic town to bring her back. Horrifying threats emerge from every corner as the world twists and warps around you. Will you face adversity head on with weapons and traps, or sneak through the shadows to survive? This is your one chance at redemption, and the only way out is in.

We will be sure to update the post as more news about the game is divulged. In the meanwhile, you can check out the announcement trailer which accompanied its announcement during the presser.
