The game lineup for EVO 2013 has been expanded to eight games with the following seven games confirmed:
- Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
- Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition
- Tekken Tag Tournament 2
- Mortal Kombat
- Street Fighter X Tekken 2013
- King of Fighters XIII
- Persona 4 Arena
The eighth game will be decided based on a donation drive with all proceeds going to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Gamers will be able to choose from a list of seventeen games that won a popularity poll on EVO's Facebook page here. The game that gets the most donations by the end of January will become the eighth game in the roster for EVO 2013.
EVO will also be partnering with four events in the US to decide EVO seeds that include:
- Socal Regionals
- Norcal Regionals
- UFGT
- CEO
Top 16 players from each event will earn a seed and EVO will assign the seeds to all seeded players. This means that players will not have their seed decided based on skill and the amount of events traveled to for those players on a budget.
With EVO 2013 fast approaching, fighting game fans and players have much to look forward to with tournaments to take part in as a player or audience member. This is also great news for EVO and its expanding coverage of fighting games to include new comers such as Persona 4 Arena. Get ready for some sweat, tears, and a forward roll dragon punch to be shed.
