With virtual reality becoming the latest battleground between console/peripheral developers, it’s not surprising that the tactic of exclusivity would enter the fray.
PlayStation is coming out swinging as it secured the rights to Resident Evil 7: Biohazard’s VR mode for exactly one year as seen in an ad via Facebook.
This is not that much of a surprise as the game was announced during Sony’s E3 conference earlier this year. However, RE7 does not release until January 24th whereas the PlayStation VR releases soon on October 13th.
Even though Sony won’t have this possible killer app to start off their foray into virtual reality, there are very few names as big as Resident Evil to boost your fancy headset. Time will tell if this timed exclusivity will shuffle it’s way in PlayStation’s favor.
