Fable Fortune’s Kickstarter Campaign Goes Live; Seeking $365K Initial Funding Goal

Earlier this year, the revered developer Lionhead Studios (most well-known for the Fable series) had closed its doors at the decision of Microsoft, and while the series proper is no more (including the previously in-development project Fable Legends), the series is continuing on in at least some form with the debut of the digital card game, Fable Fortune.

As announced earlier, former Lionhead Studios developers had been working on a collectible card game called Fable Fortune (under the banner of Flaming Fowl Studios), with the project having now debuted on Kickstarter to seek funding for the game and see it through to completion later this year.

On the game’s Kickstarter page, the team at Flaming Fowl Studios are seeking a total funding goal of $365,385, with the project’s funding period to run for 28 days. The project is being made with the blessing of Microsoft by providing the team with the Fable license, though the Kickstarter project is primarily for publishing the game and funding it through its closed beta period and finishing development.

Beyond the initial funding goals, additional stretch goals for the project include the inclusion of additional Hero characters, dialogue options, and more. Reward tiers for the project also include closed beta access, card packs, additional artwork for various cards, voice and audio packs, and more. However, rewards for the project are specifically being aimed at digital-only rewards rather than physical rewards (such as T-shirts and other swag) to focus on the game’s development and to complete it more quickly.

Fable Fortune is currently in development for Xbox One and PC, with a release for iOS and Android also planned for later this year – initial delivery of the game is expected in August 2016. In the meantime, you can check out more on the game’s development and contribute at the game’s Kickstarter page, and also check out a video on the project below:
