Facebook Switches from Credits to Cash

on June 20, 2012 10:25 AM

Facebook has announced plans to eliminate their Facebook Credits currency that is currently used by many games to make purchases. Facebook has decided to use currencies of countries for purchases made on the social network.

Those with Credits and gift cards will have their Credits converted into the appropriate currencies. Also Facebook has decided to incorporate the ability for developers to charge monthly fees on Facebook apps that essentially could open the gate for MMO like experiences on the social network. Developers, Zynga and Kixeye, are already in the process of testing out this feature that will be rolled out in July.

This is some good news for those into Facebook gaming and purchases but not a fan of their created currency.
