Today Sony Computer Entertainment finally announced a release date for Driveclub, that will hit the shelves on October 8th, and to celebrate the occasion Sony Computer Entertainment Europe sent in a press release with a batch of new beautiful screenshots in enormous 8000 x 4500 resolution.
Of course the game isn’t going to be rendered on your PS4 with all that truckload of pixels, but the new screenshots are perfect to forget yourself while admiring the beautiful details of the cars, or to be used as wallpapers (actually, they’re big enough to print as posters, if you want).
One thing is for sure: the graphics of the game itself seem to have undergone a dramatic improvement, showing that in the end not all delays are a bad thing.
While the release date may be later than some (me included) expected, it’s hard not to be excited when you look at the screenshots in the gallery below. You may want to give them some time to load, because they have a very low compression ratio and they weigh between 12 and 15 megabytes each.
If you’re on a bandwidth budget or you simply want to see the screenshots without waiting to load all those pixels, I also prepared a second gallery, with a version in “normal” 1980p. You can check it out below.
