Scientific fact: Far Cry 3 is the best Far Cry game and one of the best games of last generation. Okay, maybe that's not scientific fact, but both beliefs are commonly held. Why? Because Far Cry 3 is awesome. And today, Xbox’s Larry Hryb announced via Twitter that the game is now available on Xbox One via Backward Compatibility. The news came via the following tweet:

Far Cry 3 is an open-world action-adventure first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal for PC, Xbox 360, and PS3. The game released in November of 2012, and upon release, garnered a stellar critical reception. And in my personal opinion -- and many would agree -- it also has one of the greatest bad guys ever in a game: Vaas.

Here's a very brief overview of the game via its Steam page:

Far Cry 3 is an open world first-person shooter set on an island unlike any other. A place where heavily armed warlords traffic in slaves. Where outsiders are hunted for ransom. And as you embark on a desperate quest to rescue your friends, you realize that the only way to escape this darkness… is to embrace it

A full list of games available via Backward Compatibility can be found here, but to be honest,  all you really need is Far Cry 3.
