Ubisoft Montreal's Creative Director, Alex Hutchinson, took to Twitter recently to address the controversy concerning Far Cry 4's boxart sparked by its reveal just last week:Hutchinson posted the following Tweet not only in response to general criticism on Twitter, but specifically linked an article by Games Industry International:

Honestly the tweet is a bit vague and doesn't fully tackle all the issues brought up. Hopefully subsequent statements can clarify his meaning soon.

However, I do believe that -- whether or not you find offense in the cover -- it's important that these serious subject matters are properly discussed and not reflexively dismissed or irrationally defended. The maturity of a media can be accessed by the maturity of an audience during moments like these, and judging from many comments, the video game industry has a long way to go.
