Earlier this morning, Nintendo of America revealed its full line up of games for the fall. On this list was Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water. The Fatal Frame series has never been insanely popular in the North American region, explaining why the newest installment in the series will be only available digitally.

However, what is most interesting about the game is that players will be able to download and play a good amount of the game absolutely free of cost. The opening prologue and first two missions will be free-to-play when the game launches on October 22.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water, co-developed by Koei Tecmo Games, launches exclusively in the Nintendo eShop on Wii U on Oct. 22 for $49.99, just in time for Halloween. Players can download this free-to-start game and play the prologue, chapter 1 and most of chapter 2 for free. The full version of the game can be purchased as DLC directly from the Nintendo eShop or via the in-game menu.
