EA and 38 Studios are bringing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning to us sometime in the coming years, and quite frankly, it is looking pretty hawt. We were floored by the demo they presented at PAX East a few months ago, and continue to be amazed by each little asset they release. These screens are nothing different, and actually, a couple of them add some very familiar-looking surroundings to the game. Hit the break to check 'em out.

I really like this one, because I think it adds a very significant fantasy flair, reminiscent of The Lord of the Rings. Perhaps it's the cylindrical carriage, or the ancient-looking statue monument behind it. I'm not quite sure.

Until this point we've pretty much seen battle shots, but these two screens above give us a better idea - if only slightly - about what the rest of the world holds, including this Rivendel-like city. Check out the rest of the shots below, including some action-oriented ones that illustrate a fight with a rather ugly ogre.
