At the very end of last year, Square Enix surprised its longtime fans with the impending release of Final Fantasy IX for a newly-polished PC and mobile re-release, and while the PC version is still seeking an ETA, the mobile versions of the classic RPG are available right now.

Square Enix announced the release of Final Fantasy IX for iOS and Android, with the title now available on iTunes and Google Play (respectively) and bringing along with it a variety of added features and benefits, such as the ability to turn off random encounters, change the game speed, and refined HD visuals and character models.

Final Fantasy IX retails for $16.99 on both iOS and Android, though a sale is currently offering the title at 20% off ($13.59) from now through February 21st, 2016. Square Enix also noted on the game's page for both platforms that you'll need quite a bit of space to download and run the game, with the title requiring "around 4GB of memory," while "over 8GB of free space is required to download it."

Final Fantasy IX is available now in its iOS and Android re-release, while the PC version of the title is still on track to release in the near future - in the meantime, you can click here to download the iOS version, while heading here will get you the Android version.
