Ready to get a taste of what Final Fantasy XV might look like? It appears like we will be getting a little glimpse at what to expect graphically from the next entry in the celebrated franchise with the upcoming release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD.

Over on the Square Enix Blog, the developers posted a private talk they had with long time Final Fantasy developer Hajime Tabata at PAX Prime this year, answering several popular questions that fans have been asking. One of the questions being what would be the big difference graphically for Final Fantasy Type-0 HD over the original PSP version. The response was intriguing:

Hajime Tabata: Definitely the graphics. In improving these graphics we also utilized the development from Final Fantasy XV to not only improve things like lighting effects, but we also re-rendered everything specifically for the PS4 and XBox One.

Square Enix Members: So it’s almost like Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is a stepping stone or a sneak peek of Final Fantasy XV?

Hajime Tabata: In terms of the graphics, yes, we did utilize some of those key learnings from Final Fantasy XV to refine the game. Things like graphics were refined as well as some of the combat, which have been leveled up for the HD version.

It’s a very small morsel, but definitely note worthy that Final Fantasy Type-0 HD is being influenced by the current development of Final Fantasy XV. For the full interview you can head over to the Square Enix blog to check it out.
