Final Fantasy Type Zero is the First M-Rated Final Fantasy, as Revealed by New Trailer

Today Square Enix revealed a brand new trailer of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, and it included a fairly interesting element.

While the ESRB did not yet publish the rating officially, it’s displayed at the beginning of the video, and it’s a M for Mature.

This makes Final Fantasy Type-0 HD the first Final Fantasy game to receive a rating above T for Teen.

This might not come as excessively surprising to those that know the game well, as it’s really quite bloody, and includes a vision of the world which is much more adult than previous games of the long-running saga.

It’ll be interesting to see if Final Fantasy XV will follow the lead, but in the meanwhile you can check the trailer below.
