During the Letter from the Producer Live aired today, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida announced the release date for the final update of the 2.X series of the game, bringing the story of A Realm Reborn to a probable cliffhanger closure in preparation for the Heavensward expansion.

The patch, titled "Before the Fall Part 2," will hit the servers on PS4, PS3 and PC on March 31st.

Those that will want to access the much awaited city state of Ishgard on Heavensward's release day (June 23rd), will have to complete the main story questline of this update, because it will be necessary to pass those locked gates.

It's almost eerie to think that many considered this game dead in the water. Yet many stuck with it, and Square Enix managed to enact one of the most climatic 180 degree turns in the history of MMORPGs. Now we're getting ready for a massive expansion of what's can arguably be defined the best MMORPG on the market.

And yet there are some who say that in games failures cannot be corrected... Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn shown the world that the right direction and a lot of hard work can accomplish that and more.
