Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is now an awarding-winning MMORPG, after netting the “Special Award” in the Japanese Playstaton Awards 2013–the same event that Persona 4 Golden won a “User’s Choice” award at.

The “Special Award” was newly-created at this year’s awards event to recognize outstanding titles on the overall combination based on the following attributes: originality, buzz-worthiness, influence and performance.

At the awards show, the beta’s release for the PS4 version of the game was announced to start on February 22nd, 2014, the same day as the console’s Japanese release. The official launch date for the game will be in April 2014.
