There are few things that indicate the success of a game or a developer in Japan like being granted a regular column on the most popular gaming publication of the archipelago of the raising sun, Weekly Famitsu. Starting with today's issue said honor has been awarded to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida.

The column, title "Yoshida-san's Daily Honesty" won't exactly be daily, as it will run every two weeks, and will include information of interest to Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn players. Below you can check out a picture of the first episode, courtesy of Twitter user Dairedheart.

It's definitely amazing to see how Yoshida-san has gone from a fairly unknown developer to one of the most popular in Japan in just three years since he took the helm of Final Fantasy XIV and steered the sinking ship around to transform it into one of the best MMORPGs currently on the market.

I have to admit that when his name was announced back at the end of 2010, my first reaction was "Yoshida who?" It took me a good while to manage to find any real information on him and on his professional background. Now, even if I don't always agree with his decisions, he's one of the developers I respect the most. He risked his career on a bet and a prayer, and now we can safely say that he was successful.
