Square Enix Japan announced today with a press release that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn has overtaken the flattering number of five million registered accounts worldwide.

While the number counts "registered accounts" on PS4, PS3 and PC (including Mac) since the game's release, it does not include free trials.

The milestone was reached summing up users from North America, Europe, Japan and China, and it's destined to rise further soon, with the launch in South Korea.

Incidentally, we're just in time for the game's second anniversary, that will happen on August 27th.

I still remember when people used to laugh at me when I said that Final Fantasy XIV would rise from the ashes. Who is laughing now? After creating one of the most epic stories of rebirth in the history of video games, and releasing a fantastic first expansion, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is more lively than ever.
