Square Enix announced today via a new Producer Letter by the Game Director Naoki Yoshida that the release of the patch 1.19 of Final Fantasy XIV has been slightly delayed to October the 4th. In addition to this the Ixal Stronghold zone and the Guildleve History evalutation will be moved to patch 1.19a not to delay the main patch further.

1.19 will still be an extremely big patch, with two other Beastman Strongholds, a lot of content and fixes, Chocobos, airships and an extremely impressive-looking fight against the primal Ifrit, of which Yoshida shared a sweet video. The most interesting bit is that the fight seems to be strongly connected to the story of the game, as the misterious and ruthless Imperial Judg... ahem... Legatus Nael Van Darnus (looks like the Garlean Empire is dominated by the Dutch), makes a teasing appearance in the clip. You can enjoy it past the cut:
