Final Fantasy XIV Letter From the Producer Live Gives Details on New Content, Housing and More

Final Fantasy XIV is speeding towards the release of its revised A Realm Reborn version on both PC and PS3, and today Square Enix hosted a livestream with director and producer Naoki Yoshida, that answered questions from the fans about what’s coming with the rebirth of Eorzea.

Yoshida-san talked about a variety of topics, including player housing, free companies, new possible classes (Musketeer, Samurai and Ninja), a future DirectX 11 implementation and much more.

He also mentioned that the game will “run on specs much lower than you’re expecting”, giving hope to those that don’t have a PS3 or a PC powerful enough to run the current game. For a full translation of the questions asked and of the answers provided you can hit the official forums here.

The only sad note is the temporary disappearence of our Path Companions, that will ultimately return at a later time and be able to fight alongside the players. I’ll miss my Ariene (you can see her in the picture above together with my character), but I’m sure she’ll be back with a vengeance.

We’ll post the recording of the livestream as soon as Square Enix makes it available.
