Final Fantasy XV 1.03 Update Released; Brings New Game+ and More with 3 Gigabytes Download

on December 21, 2016 1:42 AM

It was supposed to release on December 22nd, but apparently Square Enix pulled the trigger one day earlier: Final Fantasy XV update 1.03 has just been made available on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.

The patch is quite heavy, carrying with it 3.226 gigabytes of data on PS4, and the patch notes are as follows:

  • Various Bug Fixes
  • New Mode: New Game+ (carry over certain data from a previous playthrough)
  • Additional bonus content

While not included in the patch notes, the update also brings a Photo Frames feature that let you add playful frames to the pictures Prompto snaps, when you share them on social networks.

In addition to that, the update presumably includes data for the first DLCs releasing with the game, namely the free Holiday Pack and the Season Pass-exclusive Holiday Pack+, but those aren’t yet available on the PlayStation Store, and they will probably be released tomorrow.

In the meanwhile, we can enjoy the New Game + and the photo frames.

In case you missed it, you can read about the full content of the free Holiday Pack and of the Holiday Pack+ here and here, and you can also watch the recently-released accolade trailer for the game.

If you are one of the three people out there unfamiliar with the game, you can also read our review. Spoiler warning: we loved it.
