Today Square Enix announced with a press release that Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn now counts over six million registered players between PS4, PS3, PC and Mac.

The number includes all the players that registered for the game since launch, but does not include those who only did the free trial.

The milestone matches today's release of patch 3.35, that will include the rogue-like-like Deep Dungeon: The Palace of the Dead and more.

A free login campaign will also run starting on July 25th until August 30th, letting players that allowed their account to lapse up to five days of gameplay to test the new features.

Years ago, after the debacle of Final Fantasy XIV 1.0, no one would have believed that we would read this kind of news. Yet, here we are. Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn's success is certainly a testament to the hard work of Director Naoki Yoshida and his team.

To celebrate, have a funny Japanese commercial, that was released just today.
