Final Fantasy XIII’s Lightning Invades Fashion, Stars in Louis Vuitton’s New Campaign

At times video game characters are used yo promote other products, but it’s pretty rare for them to become models for a fashion line.

Apparently, Louis Vuitton’s recently appointed Artistic Directior Nicolas Ghesquière thought that Lighting from the Final Fantasy XIII saga has what it takes, and collaborated with Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura and Visual Works studios in order to bring her to a virtual catwalk to promote the new “Series 4” line.

Below you can see a commercial starring the pink-haired heroine, shared by Ghesquière himself. Can’t say that she doesn’t look charming.

Reality and fantasy become one : lightning a genuine heroine in the new @louisvuitton series 4 ad campaign

Below you can also see the same outfits modeled in real life at Louis Vuitton’s Spring-Summer fashion show in October. Pink hair and all.

You can find the whole fashion show here, with obvious references to Minecraft in the introduction message, and to video games and virtual reality in its themes and imagery.
