If you’re a Final Fantasy fan, this will likely pique your interest. In an interview with GameIndustry.biz, Square-Enix president Yoichi Wada gave fans of their flagship franchise in the Western regions a glimmer of hope – hope that there is a slim possibility of us getting Final Fantasy XIII sooner than we though. Here’s what he had to say: “We’ve completed the master of the Japanese version, and for the US and European version we’re just adding the final touches.”
“Final touches”, you say? We’re looking at a spring 2010 release right now, but if they’re adding the “final touches” in November 2009 (possibly earlier?), would it really take them that long to release it over here?
We can always hope, right? While keeping your fingers, legs, arms and eyes crossed, keep in mind that “final” is all relative, especially in Square-Enix speak. That’s like saying the fifth inning is the final inning of a baseball game or that hour 20 is the final hour of Dragon Age: Origins, right? Anyway, here’s hoping.
In other news, I’ve never been so tempted to import a Japanese version of the game when it hits next month…must resist…
