Fire Emblem: Awakening Burns a North American Release Date and European Release Window

Nintendo has revealed the long awaited North American release date for the Nintendo 3DS exclusive Fire Emblem: Awakening. The news comes via today’s Nintendo Direct broadcast. The strategy RPG, which has been receiving excellent Japanese and import reviews, will be available in North America on February 4th, 2013. That’s much sooner than I had originally anticipated.

Furthermore, Nintendo also revealed that the game would be available in Europe sometime in April of 2013. By that time the game will be an entire year old in Japan, but the wait is still not nearly as bad as it could have been. Finally, Nintendo confirmed that the numerous DLC add-ons released for the game in Japan would also be coming to the west. How splendid!

Fire Emblem: Awakening is one of my personal most anticipated games of next year. It’s great to know it’s only roughly two months away.
