Campo Santo’s Firewatch is looking very promising, and it's a game that I am personally looking forward to.

Firewatch's Designer and Programmer Nels Anderson was featured in a recent interview, and answered a couple of questions regarding the game. One of them concerned it's length, he answered that it will provide five to six hours on average. However, there is "actually quite a lot of “off the beaten path” areas in the game that players won’t have to visit," which means a couple of extra hours for those who like to explore.

"It’s pretty hard to say since there’s actually quite a lot of “off the beaten path” areas in the game that players won’t have to visit. On average, I’d say maybe 5-6 hours … ? When I play it, it feels comparable to the length of a trilogy of movies or a TV mini-series."

Firewatch releases on February 9th on PC and PS4.
