Ubisoft is trying something different with their upcoming UbiArt Framework powered game, Valiant Hearts: The Great War. Not only is it telling a story set during the first World War but it is attempting to do so in a very personal and touching way.

The idea for the game game came from artist Paul Tumelaire whose emotionally powerful sketches inspired the team to make a game based on his art. Although his art style isn't realistic, it packs a big emotional punch.

World War I is a war that video games seldom take place in so that in and of itself was a challenge. To give the story more impact, it was decided that it should have fictional characters whose lives were inspired by real stories from the war.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War will be released on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on June 25.
