Since its release in 2009 and under the heavy restrictions of Australian game censorship and ratings, fans of Left 4 Dead 2 in the land down under have had to contend with a censored version of Valve's zombie shooter sequel for quite some time: until now, that is.

Left 4 Dead 2, thanks to a recent reclassification from its previous MA15+ rating to its new R18+ rating, has now been made available in its bloody, uncensored glory to Australian gamers for the first time, with the uncensored game having now replaced the censored version on the Australian Steam Store.

The new uncensored version will be seamless for those that are downloading the game for the first time, though for those that have already had the game downloaded for some time, a free patch will be available to add in the blood, guts, and other previously censored bits to the game. Rejoice, Australians!

Left 4 Dead 2 is currently available on Xbox 360, PC, Mac, and Linux.
