Square Enix Collective and ThroughLine Games launched a new trailer for their 2D adventure game Forgotten Anne, coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2017.

The trailer sheds some light on the story of Forgotten Anne, which is set in a world of forgotten and lost items. Players will assume the role of Anne, the enforcer who keeps order in the Forgotten Lands, who is on a mission to put a stop to a rebellion aimed at preventing her and her master, Bonku, from returning to the human world.

What stands out about this game, besides the premise, is the hand-animated cinematic scenes that are truly beautiful. The player will control Anne through light puzzles in 2D environment while playing a huge part in the important choices that she makes throughout the game.

There is much to be seen from Forgotten Anne, but it definitely has my attention with its mixture of cinematic and adventure elements. I'm personally interested to see more for the game leading up to its release.

Forgotten Anne will be playable at Gamescom 2017 at the Square Enix stand, Hall 9, Booth 30/31 & 40/41, along with a handful of other games coming from publisher Square Enix Collective.

Currently, ThroughLine Games has a Twitter campaign for gamers to submit two images, one with a photo of a lost item and the other a written story about the backstory of the item, with the hashtags #gamescom2017 and #ForgottonAnne. The studio will chose a winner to have their lost item immortalized as a character in Forgotten Anne. Submission deadline: September 4th, 2017. 23:00 CEST.
