Earlier this month, former Sony VP of Third Party Relations and Developer Technology Group Adam Boyes had announced his departure after more than four years working with Sony and PlayStation, with Boyes’ next venture having been officially revealed.
Developer Iron Galaxy Studios announced in a press release that Boyes has officially been appointed as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, with Boyes to begin his time as the company’s CEO on August 8th, 2016.
In addition to Boyes’ new role, Iron Galaxy also has made other internal shifts and promotions, with Iron Galaxy veteran Chelsea Blasko (formerly Director of Product Development) now appointed as Chief Product Officer.
A statement from Iron Galaxy Studios provided more information on Boyes’ new role within the company, explaining that “in his new role, Boyes will leverage his publisher relationships to explore new opportunities for Iron Galaxy and maximize the studio’s revenue potential,” drawing on Boyes’ “deep relationships with many of the most influential publishers and developers in the games industry.”
Iron Galaxy Founder Dave Lang also added more on Boyes’ new role within the company and joining the team:
“I am extremely excited to have Adam and Chelsea join the leadership team at Iron Galaxy. Adam is a seasoned professional who can expand and evolve the publishing arm of our business, while Chelsea, who has been with us since inception, can manage and drive the teams forward as we execute against a grander vision. With Adam in place, Chelsea and I can focus on cultivating talent, managing our teams and delivering great product.”
Boyes also provided a statement on his next venture and return to game development with Iron Galaxy, explaining that “I’ve always had a passion for game development and I’m extremely excited to be getting closer to it with my move to Iron Galaxy.” Boyes also added “I’m honored to be working with such a talented team and look forward to creating opportunities and crafting deals that deliver their products to a wider audience.”
Iron Galaxy Studios’ most recent releases have included Divekick and the post-launch content for the Xbox One/PC title Killer Instinct.
