Fortnite released late last month and the game has already amassed over one million players. Epic Games announced the milestone via the game's official Twitter. A new survival mode was also revealed alongside the news.

More information about the new mode will be shown closer to its release date.

If you're unfamiliar with Fortnite, it's a survival co-op game developed by Epic Games and People Can Fly. The game had been in development for a long time, first revealed back in 2011. Epic Games released Fortnite as an Early Access title on July 25, a free-to-play model is expected to launch alongside the completed game sometime in 2018.

Up to four players have to scavenge a map for supplies. They'll use those to build up a base with traps, walls, and other defensive structures to keep out waves of enemies. The game is also a third-person shooter so you'll have to help fight off the enemies as well.

We got the chance to preview the game earlier this summer at E3 2017, so if you've been interested in picking up Fortnite make sure to check it out.

Fortnite is available now in Early Access on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.
