Just like many other companies, Samsung is feeling the burden of the economic downfall, here manifested in decreased sales, especially on their LCDs and TVs. And while this is bad news for Samsung and its employees, it also means they'll be decreasing their prices to try to make up for lost revenue, just in time for the holiday season! So be sure to put a Samsung HDTV on your holiday gift list. Come January, you might find yourself playing Call of Duty: Black Ops on a giant TV in high definition - it'll be life size!

In addition to lowering prices of existing products, Samsung is also launching new products in hopes to spark some competition with Apple and other trendy manufacturers. The Samsung Galaxy S, a high-end smartphone powered by Google's Android software, was released in June, in hopes to feed off of the iPhone hype. Samsung is also challenging the iPad by launching the Galaxy Tab tablet, which as of now does not appear to have a release date.

So if you're looking for a reasonably-priced gift for the gamer in your life, be sure to keep Samsung's TVs and monitors in mind. Not only will it benefit your wallet, it also might help keep Samsung in business.
