A new Nintendo Direct has revealed a number of interesting details about the upcoming Wii U exclusive shooter Splatoon.
Nintendo has confirmed that the game will be receiving copious amounts of free DLC in the months following its launch on May 29th, or “throughout the summer”. New weapons, game modes and gear will be added in the free updates, and a major update scheduled to launch in August will add additional matchmaking options for four player squads, more gear and yet another game mode.
The game will also feature campaigns called Splatfests in which players will answer a question, such as if they prefer dogs or cats, and then battle for their respective teams online. You’ll be able to earn a rare item in this mode.
While we won’t get our hands on the full game until later this month, you’ll be able to demo the game tomorrow in the Global Testfire event. You can download the demo from the eShop now and it will be live tomorrow, May 8th, between 11:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. EST and on May 9th between 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m EST.
Don’t miss it!
