343 Industries has announced their new project titled Halo Online. Halo Online will be a free to play PC game that will launch sometime this Spring only in Russia. The game is a modified version of Halo 3's engine that will be optimized to perform smoothly on lower-end PC's.

Halo Online will not have a campaign mode, but the game takes place on a secret UNSC space installation called Anvil, where Spartan-IV soldiers will be training together to test out new technologies and improve their battle skills.

The closed beta will be taking feedback from Russian players and they will be continuously be adjusting gameplay, features as well as the in-game economy.

A: Halo Online was built from the ground up specifically for the PC. There are no plans to bring Halo Online to the Xbox One.

Q: Will gamers in other regions like North America and Europe be able to play Halo Online?

A: Right now our focus is on learning as much as we can from the closed beta period in Russia. Theoretically, any expansion outside of Russia would have to go through region-specific changes to address player expectations.
