In a Development Update published today, Funcom detailed the upcoming addition to the Age of Conan world: the House of Crom.

The new area will include two dungeons, and will be included in version 3.02 that is scheduled to go live by the end of the year.

The House of Crom is an ancient Atlantean temple buried under the Eiglopian mountains and just recently rediscovered and defiled by Nathan Drak... ahem, by a group of Vanir tomb raiders. It's full of lore and history of the Conan world, and includes a large amount of secrets and puzzles to be uncovered and solved.

The first dungeon, Threshold of Divinity, is a "social dungeon" for up to four parties of level 80 players. The groups don't need to be from the same guild or raid, and that offers a rather different experience compared to the rest of the dungeon raiding experiences in the game.

On the other hand the Vile Nativity is a more usual six-men party dungeon, but it still focuses on unusual gameplay elements like dodging fireballs, working with unexpected allies and solving riddles. Of course it will also include gigantic bosses for players to defeat.

Both dungeons will offer token and trophy rewards and loot themed on the Atlantean lore, comparable with that found in the most difficult instances in the game.
