Futuremark Wants PC Gamers To Make The Plunge

For quite a while, we were all anticipating the release of Windows 7. This is all the more apparent seeing as how Windows 7 was the most pre-ordered item of all time on Amazon. It is great to see that Futuremark has not only released the specs for its PC exclusive Shattered Horizons, but it has also shared some insight on it’s strategy with the game.

Jukka Mäkinen, Head of Futuremark Games Studio, explained, “PCs are rapidly leaving the consoles behind when it comes to graphical capabilities. Because Shattered Horizon is being developed exclusively for the PC we haven’t had to make any compromises. Everything, from graphics and controls, through to the interface and dedicated server support, has been designed for PC gamers who love to play FPS games.”

Jaakko Haapasalo, producer at Futuremark Games Studio added, “With Windows 7 launching today, and some very affordable DX10 and DX11 cards entering the market, there are plenty of reasons for PC gamers to make the jump from XP. When they do, they’ll find that Shattered Horizon’s stunning space setting is a great way to show off their PC.”

With all of that being said, it is good to see a developer pushing people off of XP. As a once XP freak, I can assure those who are adamant that all other Operating Systems are evil, that Windows 7 is a definite upgrade from Vista. I, for one, will be upgrading to 7 as soon as the funds are acquired. System Requirements after the Break
