Gaikai Helps Put The Lord of The Rings Online on Web Browsers

Earlier today, Gaikai announced a partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Turbine. Thanks to that partnership, The Lord of The Rings Online and Dungeons & Dragons Online will be on the game’s website, streaming on browsers.

This is a first for MMO gaming.  LoTRO is already available, with D&D Online coming soon. The Gaikai website also has a series of other game demos that can be played instantly using cloud streaming. This includes The Witcher 2, Arcania Gothic 4, Dragon Age 2, and many others.

Cloud streaming offers an alternative to downloading and storing large files on your PC. I believe it is an excellent way to try demos and games without the wait time. Gaikai might be trying to be the next Netflix of gaming by streaming demos to would-be players faster and easier.

You can check out the entire list here.
